RoofingEstimates.ai ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our website (the "Service"), you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Estimate request information: your name, email address, phone number, and property address.
• Contractor account information: company details, contact name(s), business address, license info, service area, password (stored as a one-way hash), and notification preferences.
• Communications: any message you send us via email or contact form.

Information collected automatically

• Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring URL, and timestamps.
• Cookies: We use session cookies to keep contractors logged in. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Information from third parties

• Google Maps Platform: we send your address to Google to look up coordinates and retrieve a satellite image of the property.
• Anthropic Claude: we send the satellite image to Anthropic's vision API for AI-based roof measurement. We do not send your personal contact information to Anthropic.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Generate your roof measurement and price estimate.
• Connect you with vetted local roofing contractors in your area.
• Send you a one-time SMS verification code to confirm your phone number.
• Send you the estimate report and follow-up information about your project.
• Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. SMS / Text Messaging Communications

RoofingEstimates.ai uses SMS messaging to communicate with consumers and contractor account holders. By providing your mobile phone number and opting in (by entering your phone number to request a one-time verification code, or by checking the SMS lead notifications consent box during contractor signup), you expressly consent to receive text messages from us at the number provided, including messages sent using an automated system.

Message types include: one-time SMS verification codes (OTP), estimate delivery and follow-up messages for consumers, lead notifications and account notifications for contractors, billing reminders, and customer service communications.

Message frequency varies based on your account activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, or reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe. After replying STOP, you will receive a confirmation message and no further texts will be sent unless you opt back in.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase or of receiving any goods or services from us. See our SMS Terms for additional detail.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your estimate request (name, contact info, property address, roof measurement, situation) with up to three (3) licensed roofing contractors that serve your area. These contractors agree to our Contractor Terms, which require them to use your information only to provide you a quote.

We may also share information:

• With service providers who help us operate the Service (e.g., email delivery, SMS delivery, hosting). They are contractually bound to use your information only to perform services for us.
• If required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect our rights and safety.
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case continued use of your information will be subject to this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information for marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention

We keep estimate request data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We retain SMS opt-in records for at least four (4) years to demonstrate consent. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (TLS/HTTPS, password hashing with bcrypt, encrypted credential storage for third-party integrations) to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

• Access, correct, or delete your information by emailing privacy@roofingestimates.ai.
• Opt out of SMS by replying STOP to any message.
• Opt out of marketing emails by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email.
• California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah residents: you have additional rights under your state's privacy laws, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

9. International Users

The Service is operated in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the U.S.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or by email.
